Back in the summer of 2007, right after I had graduated from college, Alex and I went on a six-week backpacking trip all over Europe; starting in Portugal and ending in Switzerland. We were on a shoestring budget and traveling light, so most of my mementos were ticket stubs from trains, planes, museums and the like. I kept a small journal and tucked away each little piece of paper to keep it nice with the idea that when we returned home I would figure out a project using them. Once we got back I had the great idea to use some of the tickets to create a cover for my scrapbook!
I chose an white 12×12 photo album that had a clear protective cover for this project. I then took 2 pieces of white 12×12 scrapbooking paper and went to work arranging our ticket stubs on the two pieces of paper; one for the front cover and one for the back cover. I also use brown scraps of paper to write my title words “Backpacking Europe 2007″ to include on the front. I then glued the tickets onto the paper and slid the pages onto the book. Here is a shot of the front and back:
For the inside first 2 page spread, I traced a map and used a pink pen to dot the path we traveled on our trip, with stars marking the cities we stayed in:
Pretty fun way to look back on our travels and reminisce on our time abroad.
